Position Description:

The primary responsibility of the Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspector ("FPI") is to test part(s) components for defects that could potentially cause a part(s) to fail during operation. Level II FPI processes parts, evaluates and interprets results, documents results, and performs equipment verification checks. They also, perform non-destructive testing ("NDT") on products using fluorescent penetrant inspection as required to conform to customer and/or national standards, by performing the following duties.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform Fluorescent Penetrant in a production environment
  • Make accept/reject decisions in regards to part(s).
  • Documents and publishes results of FPI testing.
  • Determines acceptability of product based on results of testing.
  • Interprets results, and determines probable cause of defects.
  • Run part(s) through the NDT system
  • Conduct process control test
  • Perform NDT inspections for auditors
  • Serve as the primary resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, trends, and continuous improvement.
  • Supports and maintains the quality system.

Qualifications:

  • Current Level II- NDT Fluorescent Penetrant inspector certification required.
  • Practical knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 minimum.
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 a plus.
  • Experience performing FPI for PWA and other aerospace companies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communications skills, both written and oral
