Job description

The role of AV Install Technician/Lead will perform installation of AV systems including cabling and terminations, rack assembly and equipment installation components such as speakers, displays, projectors, screens and cameras. Provide onsite support of startup and closeout of all jobs.


Responsibilities:

1. Perform assembly, installation and repair of equipment, materials and systems as directed,

specified and required in the work orders and project documentation

2. Attend regular job meetings when required

3. Inform Project Manager of any problems and concerns with assigned projects

4. Maintain updated as-built drawings and documentation for assigned projects

5. Responsible for reporting daily time and activity.

6. Maintain a professional image and build good customer relationships

7. Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current

and new technologies that the company offers

8. Comply with company policies, as well as health and safety issues

9. Promotes a team environment

10. Other duties as required or assigned


Accountability:

The AV Install Technician will be accountable to the Project Manager, Director of Operations and Director of Technical Services. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.


Qualifications:

The AV Installation Technician shall possess a desire to work with your hands and a basic understanding of construction. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Have strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able or willing to learn how to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specification sheets. Possess a strong sense of urgency.


Travel:

Some out of town travel required. Must be willing to travel.

9. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

10. Valid and current drivers license.


Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.

2. Some light lifting of objects is required. Must be able to lift minimum of 40-50 lbs.

3. Must be able to climb ladders and operate mechanical lifts.

4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal

temperature fluctuations.

6. Must be able to pass background assessment and drug screening.


Experience should include:

•Install and service professional AV systems

•Program and configure various DSPs (Biamp, Crestron, Symetrix, QSC, etc.)

•Program and configure various control systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.)

•Install and service professional video surveillance systems (Avigilon, HikVision, Pelco, etc.)

•Install and service various intercom systems
