The job

Buildertrend is looking for an innovative and deadline-driven Graphic Designer to join our Corporate Communications department. The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visually compelling campaigns across mediums that effectively engage our company employees and community. This role requires a seasoned creative to fulfill design needs working from concept to completion, with the goal of producing on-brand designs that effectively communicate our position and value. This role requires a high level of design skills, technical abilities, attention to detail, communication and project management skills.

Main responsibilities

• Creating designs and illustrations for promotional materials from initial concept sketch to finished product.
• Designing for a variety of channels including web, digital, video, social media and print.
• Making and animating vector illustrations, graphs, typography and other graphic elements.
• Enhancing live-action videos with intricate and engaging animations that help drive the narrative.
• Selecting colors, fonts, photos, layouts and other design elements to communicate concepts according to brand guidelines.
• Collaborating with other content creators, brand experts, marketing team members and web developers to create designs.
• Staying up to date on design trends in graphic design for marketing and incorporating new technology as appropriate.
• Formulating and pitching creative concepts to stakeholders.
• Delivering polished, high quality work on tight deadlines.

The preferred candidate

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a graphic design role.
• Bachelors or equivalent degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Animation or related field.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Proven ability to take copy and translate it into impactful motion graphics.
• Proven experience designing for video marketing is required. Experience using Premiere or Final Cut Pro preferred.
• Ability to stay calm and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Effectively implement typography into visual designs.
• Ability to create distinct concepts in order to explore viable solutions.
• Ability to prototype design ideas through sketches, storyboards and mockups.
• Understand complex and technical concepts.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ensure expert communication and dialogue with stakeholders and team.
• Manage time well and be able to carry projects from start to finish.
• Commitment to deadlines.
