Team Member Onboarding and Education Specialist
Status: Full-time
Schedule: Day, some evenings/weekends
Location: Ovation Heartwood Preserve (573 N 155th Plz Ste 573, Omaha, NE 68154)

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset:
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the day-to-day onboarding and education functions of the Community in accordance with Independent, Assisted or Memory Care living Community operations, and as may be directed by the General Manager and/or Executive Directors

  • Empower and engage team members to create memorable moments for our residents and other team members.
Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Direct, lead and coordinate all new team member onboarding functions ensuring that each new team member has all the tools, training, and resources to effectively perform their duties. This includes new hire paperwork and screening functions. Ensure that all new hire paperwork is provided to the business office manager in a timely manner to ensure they are able to process accurate and timely payroll. Use multiple software systems in this process: UltiPro, iCMS, DACS, eVerify, etc.
  • Serve as the Team Happiness Committee Chair and implement/oversee the LARK program.
  • Serve as a conduit for communications from Avamere Home Office team members to Ovation team members.
  • Coordinate and lead team member celebrations and recognition of anniversaries and birthdays.
  • Responsible for administration of Retain and Relias engagement and learning software systems.
  • Manage the Standing O. program
  • Creates and promotes a Best-In-Class workplace that leads Ovation to be the Employer of Choice in the region and state.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings as directed.
  • Maintains Community organizational charts and Community directory
  • Assists in administering Community Team Member retention programs and surveys.
  • Maintains all required current labor law postings.
  • Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off or the password protected automatic screensaver activates within established Community policy guidelines
  • Report known or suspected incidents of fraud, waste and or abuse to the General Manager.
  • Participation in all compliance training programs.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the Community.
  • Attend and participate in Community mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.).
  • Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
  • Follow established ergonomics policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment and supplies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Report equipment and office supply needs to the Executive Director and/or Business Office Manager.
  • Request repairs for office equipment as necessary.
  • Assist with Emergency Properness and implementing emergency procedures
Working Conditions
  • Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the Campus community
  • Moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.

  • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, pandemics, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, COVID19, AIDS and Hepatitis B
  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents needs.
  • As part of being an Ovation team member you may be recorded or photographed as part of marketing campaigns and quality assurance. You will be asked to consent to this as part of your new hire packet
  • Assist in performing all other duties assigned
Qualifications
  • Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in onboarding, human resources and/or Team Member training. Experience in health care human resources preferred but not required.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelors degree is preferred.
