Duties include:
−Travel and meet suppliers to explain proper collection requirements.
−Determine and achieve optimum inventory level.
−Work with Suppliers to achieve and maintain status as approved/conditionally approved supplier.
−Obtain and manage supplier documents for regulatory and sales on material information. (ie. COOs, COA, Kosher, HACCP…)
−Place purchase orders for materials and products.
−Follow up on purchase orders for status, lead times and ETAs.
−Work with suppliers, accounting, receiving to resolve discrepancies and issues.
−Review and analyze procurement data to achieve maximum efficiency within the purchasing department.
−Work with logistic vendors and suppliers to provide optimized shipping solutions.
−Investigate, track and work to resolve freight claims.
−Support strategic sourcing for current and new suppliers, based on purchasing guidelines.
−Maintain purchasing system for supplier information.
−Work with suppliers to achieve best Terms and Conditions.
−Partnering with offsite storage facilities.
−Contract negotiations.
−As the workload demand changes for the department, additional responsibilities may be required.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
−Experience in the meat processing area preferred
−Knowledge of beef and pork offal a plus
−Experience with food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments preferred
−Experience with FDA and USDA guidelines preferred
−Experience in procurement of pork and/or beef by products preferred
−Experience in agriculture, food, or pet food is preferred
−Minimum of 5 years of procurement and supply chain experience
−Strong organizational, analytical, financial and problem-solving skills
−High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
−Ability to multitask and prioritize work loads
−Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
− Bachelor's Degree in business or supply chain management preferred or a minimum of 6 years of procurement experience
− Knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, power point,)
− Knowledge of Adobe (PDF)
− Excellent verbal and written communication skills
