Job description
Responsible for oversight of the donations/intake and pricing and merchandising in the Habitat for Humanity Omaha ReStore's West and South Market. Provides sustained development to expand the scope of Habitat ReStore including customer-focused sales activities and develop long-term, collaborative relationships within the community to secure donations and raise awareness of Habitat for Humanity of Omaha's mission in the community. Reports to the ReStore Senior Manager.
Operations
- Displays merchandise appropriately with proper signage and favorable shelf placement including setup as well as the stocking, staging, and rotating of the donated and consigned goods in the Markets, as well as the store floor space;
- Finds items in the ReStore to upcycle and display for sale in the Market;
- Monitors inventory levels and the needs of clients including sales histories of various products to maximize efficiency of retail space;
- Maintains a good rapport including effective communication with employees, customers, and consigners;
- Maximizes and increases sales volume. Generates awareness and enthusiasm with employees before and during promotions as well as monthly sales goals;
- Provides staff and volunteers with product sales knowledge to be most effective in assisting customers;
- Demonstrates and trains Market volunteers in outstanding service to customers and consistently provides high quality donor, volunteer and customer experience;
- Establishes and maintains relationships with potential and existing donors, and customers including individuals, businesses to increase quality and quantity of merchandise donations;
- Maintains vendor contracts and upholds the agreed upon terms;
- Effectively manages Habitat ReStore assets to ensure safety of employees, volunteers, customers and others;
- Resolves situations involving volunteers in consultation with the volunteer coordinator and Sales Manager;
Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising
- Recommends in-store sales and marketing opportunities and events to drive sales and donations;
- Participates in the implementation of marketing and advertising programs to increase donations, sales and volunteer participation.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email;
- A history of successfully adapting to rapidly changing conditions with unexpected shifts in priorities;
- Ability to safely lift and position up to 35lbs. Requires the constant handling and distribution of merchandise; therefore, must be able to engage in considerable physical activity such as walking, kneeling, bending, stooping and reaching above head, often in awkward or tiring positions. Must be willing and able to lift and move products in this job including the use of proper safety practices and equipment.
