Job description

At Home Instead, Inc. we are Changing the Face of Aging®. Our parent company, Honor Technology, just closed a Series E funding round that makes us the first unicorn tech company (valued at over $1 billion) dedicated to creating a platform for delivering care to seniors.

Home Instead puts people and mission first, and you'll be an integral part of our innovative solutions as you help manage the control environment supporting our internal and external reporting process. Everyday we're solving complex problems as one of the fastest-growing home care companies. Combining technology with a personal touch, Home Instead is growing rapidly - and you can be a part of it!

As a Senior Accountant, you'll be contributing to the continual improvement of the close and accounting processes, while growing with us. If you have a passion for learning, strong technical skills, a high attention to detail, and a motivation to do meaningful work, this position is for you! This opportunity is open to national remote work.

About you:

You're enthusiastic, strategic, and collaborative. You thrive in cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines. You own your work through the entire process, proactively identifying and solving issues to drive efficiency and innovation. You are passionate about learning and growth. You love crafting spreadsheets and reports as well as presenting financial information and its impact internally and externally.

About the work:

  • Own key parts of the monthly close including entity consolidations.
  • Provide foundation accounting for Home Instead Charities, both US (501 c3) and Canada entities.
  • Contribute to variance analyses (P&L and Balance Sheet), getting to the "why's" of changing balances.
  • Prepare monthly documents, such as account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Partner with external auditors and internal partners to support external reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Research technical accounting and reporting practices to improve processes.
  • Assist Senior Manager with ad hoc projects as needed.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred) supporting high-growth, matrixed organizations; an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivots, vlookups and similar functions.
  • In depth understanding of US GAAP, monthly close processes, consolidations, and foreign exchange
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience & technical skills, analytical acumen, and excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple and competing priorities.

It would be nice (but not absolutely necessary) if you had:

  • CPA
  • NetSuite experience
  • Additional experience in VBA, SQL, and/or related data querying and visualization
