Job description

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of HR solutions aligned to the organization's goals. Working collaboratively with designated leaders, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will build and develop effective relationships with the directors, managers and employees to influence and execute HR processes, strategies and initiatives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas, including, but not limited to: employee relations, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, new hire onboarding, off-boarding, policy implementation, organizational change and employment law compliance. As a member of the HR Team, this role is highly visible within our teams and can have a very influential impact on the organization.

What you would do in this role:

  • Provide full range of Human Resources advice, support, consultation and guidance, including application of HR policies and processes, to assigned departments and employees
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests from employees
  • Foster a positive work environment by partnering with leaders and employees to promote the OrthoNebraska culture
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Navigate and assist in the resolution of employee issues; leading employee relations initiatives and investigations to ensure a positive and fair work environment
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyzing data and making recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement
  • Support change management related to the implementation of organizational solutions
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the business through exposure to departmental activities
  • Gather and analyze feedback to develop and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with department leaders to execute HR processes and associated activities
  • Implement and managing various HR initiatives (i.e., annual performance review process, benefits open enrollment, new programs/policies, etc.)
  • Ensure proper maintenance of confidential employee information
  • Provide information and tools to support effective delivery of HR services and processes, including HR related systems

Here's what makes for an ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or HR, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred;
  • 5+ years of solid Human Resource generalist experience including sourcing, employee communication, performance management and conflict resolution
  • PHR/SPHR or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, labor relations and regulations including ERISA, EEOC and DOL
  • Solid understanding of benefits and compensation administration, market pricing, labor law, and organizational development
  • Must have a customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Must have solid experience in driving positive employee relations, to include strong problem solving, analysis and investigative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with various levels of leaders
  • Ability to effectively coach and influence others
  • Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to present and facilitate
  • Some travel between Clinic locations in the surrounding Omaha area, may be required.
