Job Overview

Sign on Bonus - Up to $5,000.00

  • Develops strategic customer relationships at a corporate and mine site level.
  • Provides input to Product Managers to address product offering and pricing.
  • Responsible for completion of sales quotations for defined territory or assigned accounts.
  • Completion of internal reports at required including budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate as key member of underground Hardrock distribution team.
  • Maintains accurate customer records including installed base, key contacts, sales figures, customer project status, etc. using Sales Force system as prescribed by the Company.
  • Ensures Customer is in compliance with Komatsu terms and conditions of sale, assist in collection of those sales as needed.
  • Provides the Company with regular status reports on business activities, opportunity development and overall satisfaction of the Customers base.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for the promotion, sales and support of products offered to obtain maximum revenue, profitability and market share in an assigned territory. A key aspect of their responsibility is building long-term customer relationships through a detailed understanding of the customer's business.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of the underground hardrock mining industry.
  • Develops sales opportunities for Komatsu Underground Hard Rock product lines within the defined territory or with assigned accounts.
  • Builds strong working relationships with relevant customer personnel.
  • Assesses customers' total potential with Komatsu Underground Hard Rock products. Performs opportunity analysis by customer and site.
  • Acts as key contact for accounts and liaises with appropriate personnel to communicate customer service needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with varying audiences from production workers to customer management.
  • Strong customer service focus, negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • May be required to participate in technical studies, demonstrations or field tests.
  • Ensures personal company related expenses are processed in accordance with Company policy.
  • Assists as required in any physical inventory counts (especially any consignment stocks).


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a mining related discipline (Mine/Mech/Geo Eng, Geo, Met, etc.) or Business Administration, appropriate underground mine experience can be substituted for education
  • Five to seven years sales or customer experience with the underground mining industry and product application.
  • Familiarity with CRM software or ability to learn.
  • Self-motivated and high energy with a sense of urgency in job responsibility.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Highly developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the relevant industry.
  • Experience with or ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes.
  • Computer Literacy including MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
  • Ability to travel frequently, often to remote locations and work underground.
