Summary of Functions:

This position's primary focus is to negotiate and secure the best pricing for quotes and place purchase orders to vendors for various products throughout the company, varying from equipment supplies to equipment. Create and monitor purchase orders, contracts, forecasts, and supplier interactions with the Purchasing department and other company departments. In addition to the buyer responsibilities, this position will be responsible for managing inventory control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Place orders for materials, equipment parts & supplies for all departments throughout the company
  • Ensure that ordered items are delivered on time
  • Negotiate pricing and vendor selection
  • Maintain purchasing records
  • Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of items are in stock
  • Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement improvements process to existing operational procedures to maximize accuracy.
  • Performs physical counts, reconciles actual stock count to generated reports.
  • Daily Cycle counting and maintaining inventory integrity 100 % year-round.
  • Assist with yearend Inventory
  • Arrange emergency shipments and expedited deliveries on behalf of internal customers
  • Resolve problems including but not limited to invoicing, purchasing, shipments, and deliveries as needed
  • Make sure all parts are appropriately marked and identified in their location
  • Inventory control skills to secure inventory integrity
  • Other various tasks as assigned

Organizational Relationships:

  • This position reports directly to the Fabrication Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capable of using computer inventory software such as M3
  • Exhibits ability to read and interpret inventory reports, sales reports, and packing slips
  • Must be computer literate, knowledge in Windows applications & AS400 preferred
  • Physical ability to lift 10-25 pounds and sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl repeatedly
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions
  • Must have problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with the possibility of many interruptions throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $57,000.00 per year
