The Role
The Business Analyst will be responsible for enhancing Performance & Attribution capabilities. The qualified candidate will collaborate with other development team members and analysts in extending the underlying calculations, internal/external reporting and contribute to technology modernization. In an agile format and structure, you will partner with squad members to define the requirements, test and implement specific deliverables within the Performance & Attribution Tribe.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Management Information Systems
- A minimum of five years of related experience
- Proficiency in investment instruments, financial markets, performance measurement methodologies preferred
- Agile and JIRA experience preferred
- A self-starter and phenomenal teammate who is independent and can work with minimum supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Working in a team environment, collaborating openly with colleagues on shared items of work and communicating optimally with business partners to understand the business problem
- Involvement with business practitioners (Portfolio Managers, Senior Management, and Attribution Analysts) in helping to define analytical approaches to solve business requests
- Supporting agile team's dedication to quality by defining and implementing tests that address the business needs
- Tracking and updating work in progress items in JIRA, by logging accurate hours spent on each task
- Participating in agile ceremonies such as daily stand up, refinement sessions and retrospectives.
- Your ability to thrive in a dynamic and fluid organization where priorities shift to respond to changing business need
The Team
The Business Analyst will be responsible for enhancing Performance & Attribution capabilities. The qualified candidate will collaborate with other development team members and analysts in extending the underlying calculations, internal/external reporting and contribute to technology modernization. In an agile format and structure, you will partner with squad members to define the requirements, test and implement specific deliverables within the Performance & Attribution Tribe. This tribe is responsible for calculating daily transaction-based attribution at the holdings level and top-level performance for use by various consumers including Senior Investment Staff, Portfolio Managers, Research groups and Distribution Channels. These highly sophisticated systems are continually improved in response to challenges posed by, among others, changes in investment management strategy, the introduction of new investment products, and changes to upstream or interfacing applications.
