Job Opportunity: Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: Human Resources Director
Classification: Part Time 30 hours (willing to hire Full Time)

Summary: (This is an entry-level position) The Human Resources Generalist will have a high focus on recruiting and onboarding within the organization. The role will assist with other areas in the Human Resources Department including but not limited to benefits, payroll, filing, etc. This role will also serve as a backup cashier for the accounting office as needed.
Job Description:
- Maintains the integrity of the applicant tracking system;
- Collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings;
- Recruits, screens, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions;
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications;
- Implements new hire orientation for all incoming hires including setting new hires up in all systems;
- Prepares and sends new hire report to state authorities;
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with safety training, anti-harassment training for new hires;
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the human resources director;
- Serves as backup cashier for all locations to cover shortages and vacations as needed;
- Assists with Payroll and Benefits processes as needed;
- Communicates, enforces and abides by group policies and procedures of the Employee Handbook;
- Brings integrity, ingenuity, enthusiasm and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks;
- Performs other related duties consistent with the role; this does not preclude management from assigning additional, though unrelated, duties.
Travel Requirement:
Travel is required as needed to travel to various worksite locations.
