JOB TITLE: Technical Business Analyst
REPORTS TO: Director of Business Analysis and Quality Assurance
JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, specifying and validating the business needs of project stakeholders, customers and/or end-users. The selected candidate will also be tasked with interviewing stakeholders to gather and compile user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. The Technical Business Analyst will be expected to apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help support the development process and ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. Within this role, it is essential to have a strong background knowledge of retail product lifecycles, inventory and commerce systems as the chosen candidate will be part of a team personally responsible for system enhancements and documentation on platforms supporting over $2 Billion in sales.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Work closely with all teams to develop an understanding of an enterprise-wide complex retail ecosystem
- Assimilate with departments outside of your area to learn the inner workings of a requirement
- Gather, analyze and document business requirements from multiple lines of business.
- Work closely with any members throughout the organization
- Be able to present and lead meeting rooms/calls with as many as 15 people attending
- Review, understand and become an expert on all new requirements for software development
- Construct enterprise-wide documentation to support all programs
- Record information technology (IT) definitions based on identified needs of the organization
- Continuous Process Improvement is required
- Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met
- Identify options for potential solutions and assess them from both technical and business feasibility
- Take personal ownership of each enhancement through the business requirements document for each initiative
- Become subject matter expert across all systems with regard to retail processing
- SOX process documentation
- Participate and lead in software quality assurance phase as required
- Additional responsibilities as required
- Bachelor's degree required, in an IT-related field
- Possess at least 5 years or working experience in the field as a IT business analyst
- Substantial knowledge in business application systems, enterprise, distributed, multi-tier/web-services, web-based applications
- Expert in requirements documentation procedures
- Expert in an Agile methodology environment
- Experience in working with/for Retail Businesses
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
- Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to read communication styles of team members and clients who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
- Experience implementing client server and/or web-based applications
- Understanding of Cloud Based architecture
- Expert knowledge of software development life cycle and methodologies
- Experience in system architecture mapping
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Project and Visio
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
