Job description

U.S. Vision has an opening for a Tax Accountant. We are one of the largest eyewear companies in the United States. We have been engaged in the retail optical business since 1967. We are the second largest independent operator of optical stores in host retailers in terms of store count and the first in terms of the number of brands. We are located in 42 states, with our corporate headquarters in Blackwood NJ.

Essential Duties/Functions

* Timely compliance and filing of business license applications and payment for all retail locations
* Monthly, quarterly and annual preparation and filing of all required US sales and use tax returns
* Maintain sales and use tax permits
* Update the point of sale system, as necessary, for any changes in sales tax rates or taxability
* Preparation and entry of check requests into Oracle
* Preparation of State Annual Reports
* Maintenance of the tax calendar to ensure compliance with required filings for all tax types
* Respond to notices received from state tax authorities
* Assist with ad-hoc tax projects and audit requests as necessary Assistance with federal and state corporate income and franchise tax returns when necessary
* Assistance with federal and state corporate income and franchise tax returns when necessary
* Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
* 1 or more years of tax compliance in public accounting or private industry preferred
* Must have good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite of products
* Working knowledge of Oracle, OneSource, and tax research software preferred
* Must be self motivated and team orientated with excellent communication and organization skills
