Job description

Patel Consultants is seeking a Human Resources Director for our client, which is a food distribution facility. This is a privately held, family owned business founded nearly 80 years ago.

This company has 3 locations - South Jersey, North Jersey and Miami.

*HR Director will have a "home base" in either South Jersey or North Jersey, but will have to be willing and able to commute to the other location if needed. This person will also travel to Miami once or twice per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Director will oversee all functional areas of HR.
  • Partner with the leadership team to formulate, develop, implement and evaluate an effective HR Department to achieve the organization's vision, mission and goals.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts to ensure that the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates.
  • Create systems to attract talent, identify critical talent needs, and develop core competencies
  • Identify ways to increase staff retention and productivity.
  • Mitigate legal risk to the organization through proactive training and education, clear systems and processes for managing conflicts with and between employees, handling and investigating complaints of harassment/discrimination and other unjust practice allegations.
  • Maintain current knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations at the local, state and national level relating to employment and ensure organizational compliance. This includes educating and advising managers and senior leaders on HR-related legal and regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices and policies are aligned. Ensure that employee files and records are properly and securely maintained.
  • Coordinate employee issues/questions with the any other functions.
  • Is familiar with various government programs an reports, including AAP, EEO 1, VETS, etc.
  • Is familiar with the various company benefit programs, healthcare, 401K, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Five-seven years' director/manager experience in human resources within a manufacturing, distribution or warehouse environment.
  • BA degree preferred.
  • "Hands On" type of HR leader.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
