Job description

We have a unique opportunity for an HR Manager in Bridgewater, NJ. As an HR Manager, you will manage all aspects of the Bridgeway HR Department to include, employee relations, benefits administration, and providing HR support to the management team. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Responsibilities for the HR Manager include but are not limited to:

  • General HR Duties:
  • Supervising the Payroll/Benefits Specialist, Recruiter, Generalist and HR Specialist (Administrative Assistant)
  • Managing HR documentation in accordance with agency policy and external laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing that the Recruiter completes credential verifications, criminal background checks, employment references, and DMV record checks in a timely manner and prior to hire.
  • Maintaining HR database (ADP) and generate reports to include adding new hires with starting date, and indicating termination date when staff leaves agency's employment.
  • Exit interviews, and provide a quarterly report to immediate supervisor indicating exit trends.
  • Overseeing that Workers Compensation claims are processed in a timely manner.
  • Employee relations-questions, conflict resolution and disciplinary action support
  • Research and development of HR Policy
  • Benefits Management :
  • Developing and managing an employee educational assistance program.
  • Health benefits contract renewals and committee liaison.
  • Responding to employee questions about health benefits, pension and other benefits.
  • Managing leaves of absence and managing COBRA administration.
  • Reviewing health, dental and optional insurance benefits invoices for accuracy and submits them to fiscal for payment.
  • Updating pension, life, and group disability program for staff additions, deletions and salary adjustments.
  • Assists with :
  • Assisting with the ongoing Management Training program relative to HR processes.
  • Tracking training and certifications, annual performance evaluation and orientation activities.
  • Responsible for overseeing agency's HR database documenting credentials, background checks, staff attendance at trainings, and staff's successful completion of competency base trainings, best practice trainings, and attendance at orientation.
  • Ensuring the Essential Learning training process is followed by monitoring the HR admin in adding new employees, removing terminated employees, etc.
  • Orienting new hires to Essential Learning as part of Day One Orientation.
  • Requirements for the HR Manager include:
  • Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • High School Graduate, or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Experience:
  • At least 3 years paid progressive work experience in Human Resources
  • For High School Graduate or GED, 5 years affiliation with Society for Human Resources Management
