Job description

The Industrial Microbiologist will be responsible for supporting biocatalysts production fermentation process development and optimization.

Core Responsibilities:

• Apply microbiology knowledge and skills to provide support for biotransformation projects.

• Cell bank (MCB, WCB) preparation and maintenance.

• Nutrient media preparation and sterilization.

• Fermentation vessel (flask, fermenter etc.) and equipment sterilization and preparation.

• Seed train generation for fermentation runs.

• Monitor fermentation contamination, assay, QC and verify aseptic conditions.

• Characterize, identify and deposit newly acquired microorganisms.

• Conduct basic downstream processing operations (cell lysis, biomass separation, micro- & ultrafiltration).

• Record and document all stages of work, operate lab information & knowledge management system (ELN etc.).

• Other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Min BSc degree in microbiology, biotechnology or related field.

• Hands-on experience in modern microbiology techniques, microbial assay, identification and classification methods.

• Applied knowledge of microbial physiology, biochemistry, enzyme fermentation, downstream processing.

• Understanding of modern molecular biology, strain and enzyme engineering.

• Min 5 years working experience in industrial fermentation environment.
