Summary

Responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting for Subaru of America (SOA). Plays a key role in working with business units and senior leadership to develop short to mid-term financial plans. Works with business unit heads to build annual operating plan, quarterly projections, and manage expenses. Utilizes IT systems to improve effectiveness and deliver meaningful insights into business performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Must be able to perform all of these:

* Prepares financial projections for the current year and annual and mid-range business plans for Subaru of America, Inc. Maintains responsibility for detailed projections of vehicle gross margin.
* Analyzes and communicates monthly and year-to-date financial, capital, and operational performance and variances to plans; provides insights into business performance.
* Supports implementation and utilization of One Stream EPM system for process automation and delivery of performance and results information to stakeholders.
* Maintains responsibility for supporting General and Administrative business unit budgets and expense management; reviews operations and recommends productivity and cost savings opportunities.
* Manages warranty claim and campaign processes; analyzes and provides insight into cost drivers. Maintains responsibility for warranty and campaign management reports for SOA and Subaru Corporation (SBR) management.
* Develops and trains direct reports to increase the skillset and knowledge of the team.
* Ensures full compliance with Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (JSOX), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and accounting policy requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

* Provides analytical support to the vehicle pricing function as requested.
* Manages the employee vehicle lease and accessory payment calculation and certain program criteria.

Required Skills and Abilities

* Effective communication skills to work closely with senior leadership and business unit managers to build financial projections and business plans.
* Demonstrated skills in problem solving, financial analysis and modeling, and working in a cross-functional team environment.
* IT system implementation and project management experience.
* Proven ability to work on multiple priorities under deadline.
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master's in Business Administration (MBA) required.
* Preferred skills and qualifications include:
* Experience with vehicle or cost accounting.
* Experience with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Educational Requirements

* 4 Year College Degree (BA, BS)
* Advanced Degree (MA, MS, JD, PhD) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master's in Business Administration (MBA) required.

* 10 - 12 Years
