Job description

Overview

The HR Assistant will be primarily responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Camden Kroc Center Human Resources department, reporting directly to the HR Generalist.

Responsibilities

* Track and review all pending paperwork, following up with managers as needed.
* Create and edit job postings for approved positions through the Applicant Tracking System and miscellaneous job boards, posting internally and externally as needed.
* Manage and update weekly HR Council agenda and minutes, submitting to DHQ HR by the weekly deadline.
* Notify IT of all new hires, terminations, and employee changes, such as names, job titles, work locations, and/or employment status.
* Update and maintain all Camden Kroc Center employee HR files in both electronic and paper format, following all TSA, state, and federal guidelines.
* Support annual Red Kettle campaign hiring process and other seasonal activities at the Camden Kroc Center.
* Assist HR Generalist and DHQ HR with Annual Development Review (ADR) process.
* Protect confidential information according to federal, state, and TSA guidelines, and use discernment on if/when to share sensitive information.
* Help to communicate and enforce divisional & Camden Kroc Center COVID-19 protocols.
* Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
* Run reports for HR Generalist and Kroc Administration as needed.
* Request building access cards from Security and create name tags for new hires.
* Issue Kroc Gear to new and existing employees, as needed. Track gear inventory and re-order as needed.
* Update HR forms and templates as needed.
* Complete employee verification requests for the Camden Kroc Center.
* Supervise volunteers, as requested.
* Attend required staff meetings.
* Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 1-2 years of human resources/recruiting experience preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail required.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
* Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
* Advanced technological proficiency in applications, specifically O365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
* Excellent organizational skills and strong focus on meeting deadlines.
* Reliable and trustworthy, with the discernment to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
* Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a passion for promoting inclusiveness and belonging at the Camden Kroc Center.
* Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
