Quality Assurance and Safety Manager

Coriell Institute for Medical Research is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance and Safety Manager to join our operational team. The Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee Coriell's Quality Management System (QMS) which is certified to the ISO 9 standard. The person in this role will maintain all necessary documentation within the QMS including document control/document review, Management Review, audits, and corrective/preventative actions; perform all required internal quality audits and inspections; and complete in-house laboratory equipment calibrations as required. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for Coriell's safety program by providing employee safety training, conducting semi-annual safety inspections, and maintaining waste stream disposal compliance. The Manager will serve on Coriell's Institutional Biosafety Committee.

Reporting to the Chief Biobanking Officer, the successful incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring that Coriell maintains the highest level of quality.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management and laboratory safety regulatory requirements in the biological sciences field, and Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or similar certification. The candidate must be highly organized and work well in a collaborative environment. Experience with ISO 9001 certified quality management is essential. Previous laboratory experience is desired. Previous experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems is desired.
