Job Title: HR Assistant

Reports to: HR Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Assistant will assist the HR Generalist in the daily human resource functions of the organization, including hiring and interviewing staff, handling administrative tasks, maintaining records and personnel files, and plan employee focused events for our Wonder Meats Inc. and Brooklyn Provisions Inc. facilities. The ideal applicant will also be willing to "wear many hats" and assist in daily administration and various projects throughout the organization as needed. This person will be personable and positive, with great time management and organizational skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, post, update and remove jobs from job boards, careers pages and social networks.
  • Screen resumes, schedule and confirm phone, video, and in-person interview.
  • Partner with HR Generalist to hire and onboard all new employees.
  • Assist in the construction and improvement of company policies and procedures.
  • Address employee queries about benefits (like number of remaining vacation days).
  • Maintain internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms.
  • Assist creatively with employee recognition program on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in organizing company events.
  • Jump in and lend a hand when the time comes for projects, assignments, or general office needs.

Projects:

  • Explore and define best practices for recruiting & retaining talent in our organization.
  • Establish and enforce new hire onboarding, orientation, and training process for all new hires within the organization
  • Create online company presence on Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, etc to represent our organization and inform job seekers.

Education/Experience:

  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
  • Knowledge of general business operations and human resource management
  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards a degree) in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred
