Title: QC Chemist
Location: Teterboro, NJ
Duration: Contract to hire
Schedule: Full Time M-F
Target Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Under limited supervision, inspect and analyze raw materials, in-process as well as finished product samples to secure compliance with product safety regulations, specifications and standards.
• In accordance with established procedures, performs a variety of routine analyses and technical procedures that require the use of equipment and instrumentation specific to assigned laboratory (HPLC, GC, ICP).
• Processes samples for examination.
• Makes and records observations, performs calculations, collects and prepares data for an evaluation. Keeps supervisor informed of status work, atypical results and any problems encountered.
• Reports results of assigned procedures and maintains related records.
• Performs all technical and record keeping duties in conformance with all applicable company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements, standard operating procedures, good laboratory practices, good manufacturing practices and safety and health requirements as applicable.

Requirements:

• HPLC is major must have, GC and ICP pluses
• BS Chemistry preferred, flexible to related science w/ relevant exp.
• 3 or more years of quality control lab experience
• Working knowledge and good trouble shooting practice of QC analytical instruments i.e. HPLC, GC, HPTLC, flashpoint, specific gravity, refractive index and various color tests
• Ability to approve raw materials as well as compounds based on internal and vendor specs.
