Job Title: Controller
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting functions like accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and cash management.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable based on contract terms.
- Manage employees who make up the company's finance department.
- May be expected to manage investments and insurance programs
- Prepare budgets and achieve goals with review and analysis
- Manage intercompany accounting to ensure expenses and revenues are properly maintained and intercompany balances are reconciled. with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Monitor financial reporting and analysis
- Supervise special projects like governmental or internal audits, insurance, or 401k audits
- Prepare miscellaneous tax compliance documents as needed.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable based on contract terms.
- Ensure payment of necessary items, such as utilities and rent, are paid on-time each month
- Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong accounting experience a must.
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years' experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position, and a CPA (preferred).
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Construction finance experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
- Small and large project/program orientation.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to manage various members who make up a department.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
