Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function with primary focus on the non-union population for the Metro and New England sub-regions of the East Region. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for employee relations, enforcing company policy and practices, ensuring compliance training is completed and partnering with:

1. Talent Acquisition function or on-boarding of new employees, employee development, retention, and engagement initiatives

2. Payroll and Benefits departments to facilitate applicable processes for assigned employee groups,

3. Labor Relations function as a backup for employee relations and grievance resolution as required.

Job Responsibilities:

* Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development; employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
* Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
* In conjunction with Talent Acquisition, conducts onboarding activities for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers
* Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory
* Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
* Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
* Coordinates all human resources training programs. Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops and presentations for legal, compliance and company policy.
* Acts a backup for labor relations activities as requested/needed by the Sr Manager of Labor Relations for North American Metal.
* Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
* Support of community outreach events.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

* Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
