About the role
What you need to know:
AIG is looking for an individual to partner with the AIG Private Client Group business in delivering key strategic initiatives and delivering data driven solutions through analytics and insights, reporting to the PCG Business Insights Lead within the AIG Data Office. The position will steward data analysis and integration efforts through data mapping and profiling exercises, serving as a conduit between PCG business partners and the Data Office, defining business requirements and developing specifications to solve business problems through data and in developing streamlined/optimized data processes and procedures in support of those activities.
The ideal candidate would be able to work collaboratively across functions (marketing, finance, claims, operations, actuarial, underwriting and distribution) to establish the key financial and operational drivers of economic value and help drive standardization in definition, process and application. The candidate would participate in the ongoing analysis of key metrics to evaluate the performance of business operations (e.g., closure ratios, retention, UW turn times, mix of business changes, etc.) that need to be managed for the business to produce profitable and growing performance, and assist in the creation of new metrics and standards by translating business needs and processes.
Responsibilities may also include helping highlight critical trends, and producing concise, relevant, and actionable management information reports and analysis, as needed.
What we're looking for:
- Strong analytical, financial, research and problem-solving skills.
- Process expertise and familiarity with IT methodologies and traditional data processes.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and critical business issues and drive to successful resolution.
- Medium to High level SQL skills. Snowflake, AWS, SAS, Python and other coding language skills preferred.
- Experience with data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau and Power BI preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, key leaders, and subject matter experts to inspire understanding and agreement.
- Strong process and systems skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a multi-task, high-volume environment.
- Experience in the Insurance Industry a plus.
Education and Experience:
- BS/BA Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of insurance industry or financial services experience in a personal lines data analyst, actuarial analyst, or analytics capacity.
- 3 or more years of experience with data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets.
