The new Pershing Data Governance Office handles data governance for all Pershing business globally inclusive of topics such as implementation of enterprise data framework and policies for our line of business, establishing and maintaining corresponding LOB-level policies and procedures, monitoring data related risk and establishing / reviewing controls, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance around data. The group works with business data owners and technology counterparts in advancing our maturity around data quality, information protection, and data management throughout its lifecycle and within change processes.
- Responsible for data quality requirements including working with business data owners in the selection and submission of authorized data sources, identification of critical data elements and data quality business rules.
- Establish and maintain process and procedures for data quality requirements for Pershing globally. Responsible for tracking and remediation of all data quality issues and data incidents for Pershing businesses globally. Monitors data quality issues in alignment with policy, establish metrics for reviews of all data incidents.
- As a member of the business function the role is aligned with, individuals in the role are ultimately accountable for the clear definition, health and proper usage of the functions owned data wherever it resides within the organization.
- Responsible for on-boarding own group within the Bank to data governance principles around data quality and incident reporting, policies and processes, and setting and managing data expectations with employees at all levels.
- Reports to management on group's adoption of principles, policies and processes. Accountable for the data quality contract process and the integrity of the data delivered to users. Point of escalation for unresolved data incidents which have passed their SLA. Conduct data cleansing/remediation activities as required.
- No direct reports. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
Bachelors degree in computer science, actuarial science, finance, economics, mathematics/statistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 3-5 years of total work experience preferred. Experience preferred in creating, editing, modifying, sharing and restricting access to data, monitoring and/or escalating data quality issues until resolution, attesting to data integrity as delivered to users, data tiering and data metering, remediating unresolved data incidents, defining the health and proper usage of owned data throughout the enterprise, serving in a data governance role in financial services.
