About the Role
The Vice President of Finance will work closely with the CFO to lead the company's business planning process, including creating all budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances from plans, and partnering with functional leaders across the organization to support the building and tracking of their departmental plans.
Responsibilities
- Directs the financial operations for the organization at both the strategic and tactical level
- Mentor and develop the team of finance professionals, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
- Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic business initiatives and operating models
- Accountability for leading the annual and quarterly budgeting & forecasting processes, including establishing the rituals and cadence for planning meetings, information gathering, and on-going support to functional groups and executive leadership
- Creating and managing a team of "business partners" that supports the functional groups to build their departmental plans and adjust/optimize based on latest actuals data
- Overseeing the creation and tuning of forecasting models
- Driving insights on the fundamental economics and unit costs of the business, as well as clarity on variances vs. plans and performance trends, based on deep understanding of the composition and drivers of each line of the financial statements
- Partnering with the Accounting team on financial reporting to present financial statements and metrics reports to management and investors
- Facilitating the evolution and maturation of the operating practices of entire CFO organization, including department meeting rituals, goal setting and priority tracking
- Supporting and influencing partnerships, investments, capital projects, and new product development activities with financial analysis
Education
MBA is a plus
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 15 years + of experience in roles that have prepared you to understand, analyze and present financial performance across the full expanse of a complex business structure
- Experience leading a team of 5+ staff
- Ability to explain intricate financial analysis with crisp clean sentences and paragraphs
- Ability to articulate thoughtful analyses and data-based insights throughout the organization and gain buy-in for key recommendations
- Ability to create fresh perspectives and enjoyable interactions, and a personality that thrives in a less structured and dynamic environment
- MBA is a plus
- People Management: Business Partnering Team
- Key Relationships: CFO, VP Accounting, CHRO
