Location: Kenilworth, NJ
Description: Our client is currently seeking a SENIOR BUYER
This job will have the following responsibilities:
•Identifies and recommends suppliers, determines capabilities and recommends supplier additions or changes to management.
•Maintains current knowledge of prices and trends and availability of new products/sources.
•Creates and processes purchase orders. Communicates updates to vendors and internal customers •Negotiates delivery terms.
•Work with AP to resolve discrepancies between the PO and vendor invoice
•Communication with Project Mangers to ensure timely arrival of equipment to meet designated schedules.
•Manage and prioritize purchase requests in a timely and efficient manner.
•Ensure equipment is delivered accurately, where and when required.
•Perform high level product cost and payment term negotiations as necessary to minimize total procurement cost.
•Build effective vendor partner relationships and secure discount opportunities.
•Manage larger, more complex projects
•Assist buyers and junior buyers as needed
•Process Return Authorizations as requested by the Project Management team
•Work with Project Managers and Account Executives to understand the project and the timelines.
•Work with strategic vendors such as Grass Valley, Riedel, Ross to procure the larger configured systems specifically in Media & Entertainment, Medical Integration, Federal Solutions, Audio Visual, and Sports & Live Events.

•Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and manages through change, delays or unexpected events.
•Superior organizational and communication skills
•Superior negotiation skills with regards to pricing, payment terms and lead times
•Strong working knowledge of Excel
•Experience working in an ERP system.
•Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain concentration for extended periods of time.
•Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial time pressure and to perform under the demands set by the company.
•Prior work experience with an A/V company is a plus.
•D365 experience a plus.
•5 years purchasing or related experience.
