Position Title: Mortgage Processor

Job Type: Full-Time

Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary: $16.82 - $24.04


Our growing credit union is searching for a detail-oriented team member to provide exceptional service to our members. This includes providing prompt, efficient and courteous service while completing mortgage processing and closing duties that are essential to ensuring proper mortgage loan servicing. In addition, the employee will need to effectively promote member awareness and knowledge regarding first mortgage programs and create an environment that nurtures member retention and satisfaction.


Essential Functions & Basic Duties

  • Serve and satisfy member needs with a superior level of customer service while providing general information and cross selling products and services.
  • Resolve various member inquires through clear and detailed explanations.
  • Obtain all information deemed necessary to process loan requests in a timely manner, including but not limited to credit reports, income verification, appraisals, lien searches, etc.
  • Gather necessary mortgage histories, payoffs, VOE, and VOD.
  • Insure proper completion of RESPA, HMDA, and other relevant federal regulations.
  • Process and submit loan packages accurately to underwriting.
  • Accurately prepare and have delivered all loan closing packages prior to the settlement dates.
  • Verify the accuracy of all disclosures and closing documents prior to closing.
  • Coordinate loan closings between members, sellers, and title agents.
  • Activate private mortgage insurance.
  • Accurately complete all loan commitments as needed.
  • Provide assistance to members and solve all problems that arise between application and settlement.
  • Contribute to the team effort by performing all other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Employee must register with the NMLS Registry as required by the S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Mortgage processing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Have a solid understanding of mortgage products, guidelines and regulations.
  • PC proficiency required.
  • Strong people skills and a knack for problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required with little or no prior notice.
