# 116181 - Montclair, New Jersey, United States
Well, hello. We're psyched you're reading this job description (thanks in advance), and we hope you're psyched, too. We're looking to change the world for the friendlier, and we're obsessed with people-which is why we've written this thing, and hopefully why you're reading it-because you feel that same way. We're also obsessed with making amazingly awesome products that are safe, effective, delicious, and as natural as we can make them. And while we're listing all of our obsessions here, we're also obsessed with elevating the everyday, and in crafting naturally friendly™ products that are as accessible as they are beautiful. We think everyone deserves a little awesomeness, which is why hello is for the 100%, not for the 1%.
We're a small but mighty team with big dreams, a big loft, and big expectations and rewards for those that join in our mission. Together we'll achieve incredible things, and our ideal candidate, and we sure hope that's you, will share and champion our values.
We believe…
personal care should be more, well, personal.
everything we do and build should be thoughtful, transparent, and imbued with fun and beauty.
everything communicates, and we take pride in how we share our story, how we listen and respond, and how we "spread the friendly" to make a positive impact around the world.
we're creative doers and makers who are strategic problem solvers. We don't just lead processes, we live to make meaningful change happen.
how our products, brand, and interactions make people feel is exceptionally important to us. It's all friendly all the time, without exception.
thoughtful design is at the heart of everything we build; design differentiates, and enables our products to transcend basic functionality, elevate the everyday, and generate deeper emotional connections. Design is magic, it's part of our secret sauce, and we never take it for granted.
people are at the core of all things at hello. The peeps who join our brand and use our products, and the peeps that work with us to build a friendly future. It's all about the peeps.
a bit about the role
The friendly senior product development manager at hello is incredibly important. This person will be responsible for bringing new oral care products to life from concept to shelf.
Responsible for all phases of the development of new products, you will also be our friendly project manager, overseeing the NPD calendar, budgets, and timelines. Your role in the process is super critical to the success of the brand.
what we're looking for
you're a planner: you'll be planning and tracking progress through the entire lifecycle of a product from concept to delivery; through close partnership with cross functional teams, manufacturing partners and suppliers
you're detail-oriented: you'll coordinate detailed project plans, establish timelines for delivering new products across multiples categories, and perform risk assessment to ensure project remains on time and in budget
you are a problem solver: you know how to drive challenges to resolution through partnerships and creative problem solving and use logic and methods to solve challenging problems with effective solutions
you connect the dots: you will be responsible for understanding and evaluating the end-to-end process and making recommendations on how it can be improved
you're a collaborator: you'll be responsible for keeping key stakeholders up to date on the progress of projects, risks and issues in a timely manner, and driving the team to completion of all deliverables
what you'll need
bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
5+ years' experience in new product development in oral care, consumer healthcare, personal care, or another relevant, regulated category
knowledge of project management processes and of sourcing of components and raw materials
ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders including cross-functional team and third-party vendors
ability to take ownership, lead global cross functional programs and projects, think strategically and tactically, solve problems creatively, and drive results
proficient in Project Schedule software (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.), MS Excel, Google Suite and Adobe
you have ideals as well as ideas, and you care a ton about the environment and about the product choices you make. You're forward-thinking, you've got grit, and you're comfortable in an entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment.
you're ok with friendly dogs in the office, with having to book your own travel, and with various musical genres
