Broker Services Specialist


Job Description:

Our client has an immediate need for a broker services specialist. As one of the largest benefits brokerage firms in the nation, our client is growing and looking for top talent to help with various administrative and client-focused tasks at their location in Mount Laurel, NJ. The Broker Service Specialist supports the General Agency service team by assisting with group enrollment, member activity, renewal processes and additional administrative functions that are designed to improve and enhance workflows, timeliness, and broker responsiveness.


Responsibilities:


  • Answer incoming and place outgoing phone calls.

  • Renewal Process - works with outside brokers to assist in the renewal process with communications, follow-up, and distribution of applications to carriers.

  • New group implementation - works with outside brokers to assist in the implementation process with communications, follow-up, and distribution of applications to carriers via carrier portals or hard copy submissions.

  • Approval Letters - tracks implementation & renewal process and sends Approval Letters to brokers.

  • Quoting Tools - uses carrier and vendor quoting tools to complete and/or coordinate quotes and proposals for all new and renewal business.

  • CRM - updates transaction information, follow-ups and services for all accounts and policies in CRM tasking system, including applications and appropriate client data.

  • Client or Broker Data - may be asked to work with benefit communications and/or technology teams to confirm client data

  • Update broker with status of issue.

  • Assist client by providing relevant information in a response to various questions and troubleshooting in-depth issues/problems on a daily basis.

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned


Education Requirements:


  • High School diploma and/or GED equivalent required

  • Bachelors degree preferred

Qualifications:


  • 2+ years applicable job experience, preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, required

  • Prior experience in broker agency or benefit administration firm, preferred

  • Familiarity with insurance carrier websites, preferred

  • Proven track record in customer service; preferred

  • Familiarity with database applications, a plus
