The Global Technology organization at Prudential is seeking a Vice President, Infrastructure Architect. Reporting to the Chief Architect, this highly visible role will be a member of the Architecture leadership team embedded with the Chief TechnologyOffice(CTO) and peers across the Architecture organization, spanning architecture domains (e.g.data architecture, application architecture) to develop, drive and maintain enterprise infrastructure patterns, processes and roadmap. The Infrastructure Architect is a key thought leader helping to set the direction for the Global Network,Hardware and Software Infrastructure. This person will understand business fundamentals, Information Technology, and Network concerns and know how to take a big picture approach.This role requires a unique combination of skills: strong knowledge of our businesses, business processes and strong technical acumen and EA knowledge,the ability to work across and influence many partners (e.g.leaders of eacharchitecture domain, CTO), considered an expert in Infrastructure and a broad set of Network Technologies, and has a strong strategic mindset.
Responsibilities:
• Working in tight collaboration with the Chief TechnologyOffice(CTO), design, implement and maintain enterprise infrastructure vision and target state architecture
• Collaborate with peers across the Architecture organization and domains (e.g.data, application, security) and define and document infrastructure patterns that are included in Enterprise Architecture standards
• Maintain and revisit infrastructure patterns and processes
• Obtain approval of new or modified standards from Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB).
• Define enterprise infrastructure architecture roadmap and reference architecture to implement architecture standards.
• Collaborate and educate business and technology community across all levels of the organization on infrastructure architecture, patterns and standards; influence the adoption of EA principles, patterns, standards to demonstrate maturity and progress with technology modernization and optimization
• Study the market and industry to proactively plan and implement tech-forward opportunities to solve complex new business and technology challenges or risks
• Collaborate with peers across the Architecture team to ensure architecture standards and solution architecture designs align with infrastructure vision and roadmap
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
• At least 10+ years of technology leadership experience with work experience in infrastructure/systems environments, architecture design, networking and engineering (hardware/software), preferable withEA knowledge. Should have delivered large scale technology infrastructure initiatives with direct architectural accountabilities for execution and delivery. Detailed knowledge of storage, security, systems monitoring, capacity and performance planning and management, application architecture and enterprise principles, patterns and best practices.
• Deep knowledge of business processes and business and technical capabilities, preferably in financial services industry
• Deep and strong technical knowledge of infrastructure standards, while also having the ability to create and execute upon a clear enterprise strategic vision for target state architecture that supports all businesses and corporate functions
• Ability to clearly communicate the vision and target state across all levels of the organization and influence the adoption of enterprise infrastructure architecture principles, patterns, standards to demonstrate progress on technology modernization and optimization
• Ability to proactively interpret and translate complex business challenges into technology solutions while aligning with enterprise capabilities
• Objective, diplomatic team player with excellent collaboration, networking, and influencing skills, as well as credibility and commitment to building trust and developing relationships.
• Accustomed to managing multiple efforts across different areas. Experience managing projects, budgets and schedules to successfulcompletion
• Entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and resilience; comfort with and ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity
