Duties

As the Post Closer at Lakeland Bank you will be responsible for facilitating loan package receipt, shipping, delivery, and purchase of all loans for the residential mortgage department. The Post Closer will be responsible for all administrative post closing tasks once the loan has closed for conventional and government loans (FHA (both forward and reverse, VA and USDA).

Key Responsibilities

* Monitors the return of the closing package and audits the closing documents for accuracy per the Closing Instructions
* Completes other post closing tasks in order to facilitate the sale of the loan to the investors to include the UCDP, UCD, FHA Appraisal Logging and Insurance Endorsement, VA and USDA portal requirements including the payment of all government insuring/guarantee fees
* Ships the loan package via imaging or paper file to the investor no later than the investor expiration date
* Ships the collateral package via overnight delivery to the investor no later than the investor expiration date
* Responsible for proper document indexing in the Encompass eFolder
* Resolves suspense items in order to have the loan purchased; monitors the receipt of the investor purchase advice
* Assigns the loan via MERS for MERS member investors.
* Reconciles the investor purchase advice and notifies Loan Operations according to procedure
* Review exception reports to ensure all tasks are completed and prioritized to ensure the loan is on target to meet closing requirements and investor delivery.
* As needed, work closely with the closer to ensure acceptable delivery and purchase of the loan by the investor
* Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

* High School diploma or GED
* 1 year prior experience in an administrative role
* Well-organized, able to prioritize
* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Ability to work on several files simultaneously, at times with conflicting deadlines
* Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
* Ability to take direction of workflow from Closer and/or Closing Manager
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers at all levels throughout the organization
* Proficient using Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel
* Strong problem solving skills. Ability to reach out to appropriate resources for assistance in obtaining resolution
* Willingness and ability to abide by all applicable regulatory and department practices and procedures
* Must be bondable.

Preferred Qualifications

* Working knowledge of Encompass
* 2 years previous mortgage closing experience
