Job description

At Bed Bath & Beyond the Manager of Industrial Engineering uses data gathering, reporting and analysis techniques to support the ongoing and continuous improvement of our facilities. In additional this role will manage the evaluation of core Labor Management processes, times studies and elemental determinations within the facility and provide data analysis for new implementations to improve the internal and external customer experience.*Responsibilities:* * Partners with Operations and Enterprise management to evaluate processes/automation/systems to achieve business KPI's focused on safety, cost, quality, and speed * Leads recommendation and implementation of best practices in facility * Provides and presents data driven analytics to justify recommended solutions * Update facility requirements and design based on activity levels, product profiles, flow, and transportation methods * Oversees the development and maintenance of facility engineered labor standards and associated labor management programs and reporting * Supports network standardization by collaborating with peers and leadership regarding process improvement, labor management, and continuous improvement opportunities * Facility point of contact and partner for third party consultants, MHE vendors, and software vendors developing and implementing facility changes required to meet company strategic objectives * Supports labor planning analytics and modeling for peak and non-peak labor requirements * Manage and develop junior engineer(s) within building and across the network as required *Requirements:* * BS in Industrial Engineering or related field; management consulting experience a plus * 6-10+ years experience in ecommerce fulfillment center operations * Experience with evaluation/implementation of automated material handling systems * Experience building/maintaining engineered labor standards and incentive programs * Experience building and leading continuous improvement programs to focused on safety, process improvement and cost reduction * Experience with supporting operations in labor planning * Experience with AutoCAD, Manhattan Associates WM and LM; advanced experience using MS suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, & Project * Experience/Understanding of Lean Six Sigma processes with analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, run charts, etc.
