Job description

Spectrix Analytical Services is seeking a highly motivated scientist or bioengineer to conduct both cell-based and tissue-based bioassays to support target validation, compound optimization and biomarker identification across all Thematic Research Centers. Applicants must have a fundamental understanding of biological sciences and essential computer operation and data analysis skills. The successful individual will perform bioassays, including sample preparation, reagent selection, assay optimization and data analysis, as well as ensure all work is conducted in compliance of safety regulations and follows appropriate SOPs.

Requirements and Preferred Skills:

• M.S. in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biophysics, cell biology or related disciplines is preferred; B.S. with 2+ years of industry experience would be considered.
• Experience in cell culture and cell-based assays is required.
• Attention to detail and effective communication and documentation skills is expected.
• A collaborative and team science attitude is required.
• Computer programming skills are a plus.
• Experiences in confocal imaging, immunohistochemistry (IHC), high-content screening (HCS) and analysis, flow cytometry or MS-based imaging is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development of cellular assays, including HCS or flow cytometry-based assays, to support lead optimization.
• Perform HCS-based high-throughput screening (HTS) and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies.
• Conduct tissue-based bioimaging assays to validate targets and identify translatable biomarkers.
• Assist to develop and implement Imaging Mass Cytometry technology, including prepare and develop novel antibody staining reagents, using appropriate mass tags, image acquisition and analysis.

Job location is Lawrenceville, NJ.
