Job description

Analytical Chemist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Physical testing of samples to support development of Active pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)
* Conduct instrumental analyses such as PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, PSD and solubility measurements.
* Conduct polymorph, solvate and salt screening, follow-up scale-ups and solid phase characterization in addition to routine in-process and GMP release testing support
* Data processing, interpretation and documentation
* Calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
* Laboratory support activities including weekly eye-wash checks, shipping, and chemical inventory.
The ideal candidate would possess:
* Experience with physical characterization techniques such as Powder X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis and particle size analysis
* Experience with sample preparation, equipment maintenance, routine analysis and solid-state characterization of APIs and their intermediates to support chemical synthesis and early formulation efforts
* Experience with laboratory automation tools
* Experience with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel)
* Ability to multi-task and be self motivated
* Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other related discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of industry experience OR a Master's Degree.
