Job description
Responsible for all financial, fiscal and administrative affairs of the Company's operations, including the safeguarding of all Company assets and the overall system of internal controls. Provides leadership, serves as a resource, and partners cross-functionally in the business planning, accounting, budgeting, credit, Human Resources (HR), purchasing, legal and Information Technology (IT) efforts across the Company to shape and drive key business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Implement and oversee financial policies and procedures for the accurate and consistent recording and reporting of all financial matters including budgeting, external & internal financial reporting, capital funds tracking, project and operational performance analysis and working capital management in accordance with GAAP and in conjunction with independent auditor's requirements.
· Initiate and maintain the relationship with banks and other providers of capital; oversee financing strategies including all cash flow planning to ensure availability of funds both for daily operations and mandatory distributions to the Trust (i.e., "Excess Cash").
· Oversee the financial management of the Company's subsidiary operations in Europe, Canada and Mexico.
· Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial and operational information to the CEO and Board; make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations; possess the commercial and operational savvy to know what is driving the numbers.
· Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets, financial business plans and forecasts; complete analysis of financial results; develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
· Work closely with the CEO, other Vice Presidents, and Directors to continuously align and improve business performance. Identify areas for improving competitiveness, cost savings, and growth through mergers, acquisitions, and licensing in close partnership with CEO.
· Provide supervision and management of the Accounting, Credit, IT, and Legal departments.
· Mentor and develop a direct team of four (4) directors and managers regarding work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and departmental team building.
· Oversee and direct the establishment of IT system strategies and solutions.
· Provide liaison and support to the Board's Audit Committee; is chairman of the 401(k) Committee.
· Serve as the Company's representative and maintain co-operative working relationships with the auditors, medical & thrift plan consultants and insurance broker. Direct the Company's overall insurance program.
· Coordinate the annual audit and ensure proper filing of all tax returns (Federal, States; Personal Property).
· Support Human Resources with the financial management needs with regards to payroll, 401K, employee healthcare, and benefit program selection. Represent employees as a fiduciary in 401K administration process.

OUTSIDE COMPANY: All banking relationships, audit and tax professionals, HR consultants, 401(k) consultants, insurance & real estate brokers; attorneys, strategic advisors, customers, 3rd party manufacturers; licensees.

SCOPE OF POSITION:
· MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
· Proven experience in (1) strategic planning and execution, (2) cash flow management and reporting in a senior financial-management role; (3) managing an IT, Credit, and Legal department and its primary responsibilities, (4) identifying growth opportunities through M&A.
· Minimum of 15 years of diversified and progressively more responsible experience directing the financial functions in a global business is essential. Experience managing the Purchasing & Supply Chain function in a manufacturing environment a plus.
· A blend of skills encompassing demonstrated executive & financial leadership plus a willingness to "roll up the sleeves" and perform multiple tasks, often with limited support, in an entrepreneurial environment.
· Experience with accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including GAAP, in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems, including management of the IT function.
KNOWLEDGE:
· Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
· Demonstrated competencies across the accounting/controller functions, with experience in managing complex tax issues and project finance.
· Understanding of federal and state financial/tax regulations, including 401(k) and healthcare compliance.
SKILLS:
· A strong overall business sense enabling good judgment and participation in executive decision making activity, with the ability to positively impact the long-term success of the business.
· Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
· Can integrate financial information into the development of overall operational strategies and plans and communicate those effectively to others.
· Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements and reports e.g., project payback analysis.
