Power Systems Controls Technician (P)

JOB SUMMARY
Provide specialty construction techniques and support, plus apply custom integration practices for all facets and types of Master Control panels for Power and Systems Engineering projects and packages.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide power engineering systems in support of national defense projects .
- Provide power engineering systems in support of the commercial and the Utility/Power Company sectors.
- Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
- Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Maintain project data base by writing computer programs and spreadsheets, entering and backing up data.
- Achieve operational objectives by contributing engineering information and recommendations.
- Complete projects by supervising installations as required, resolving design issues.
- Support primary and backup field groups on trouble calls on installed systems.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing directives to follow, enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Update job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Travel at times at a moment's notice ; international travel required, must be able to travel to multiple locations throughout the year.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required
- Minimum 5 years custom controls production and Field Engineering experience.
- Full understanding of ISO2008 practices and protocols to be utilized in the production process.
- Intimate knowledge of the Ft Greely Power Plant design and controls system preferred.
- Knowledgeable of power equipment and controls.
- Have a working understanding of Engineer, Design, and Support construction of Power Generation Systems and packages.
- Capability to develop and read PLC and HMI code.
- Understanding of generators and switchgear.
Skills/Qualifications: Requirements: Analysis and Design Skills, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, AutoCAD Circuit Design,
- Fluent in MS Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project).
- Ability to work extended work schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.

- AutoCAD Circuit Design
- May be required to possess and maintain U.S. Government security clearance
