Job Purpose
What does a great Senior Business Systems Analyst do?
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will be a key member of the Card Console team with the opportunity and responsibility to design and develop best of breed solutions. In this role, you will work closely with our Product Owner, Application SMEs, and many other internal teams to understand detailed requirements and work with your agile team members to document designs, create stories and also follow up and assist with various specification documentation and client communication. You will be working in a collaborative team that takes pride in their work.
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you can look forward to:
• Apply existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a portfolio
• Use sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems
• Use some independent judgment to identify problems and recommend solutions, as well as excellent documentation skills
• Understand when to escalate and/or collaborate with other teams to overcome hurdles
• Responsible for recommending and instituting business analysis best practices, tools and methodology towards standardization of BA deliverables and procedures and collaborating with Development and QA Leads to uphold and improve Agile processes
Basic qualifications for consideration:
• In-depth knowledge of several applications, technologies, business acumen, organization, versatility, interpersonal, client focus
• Broad/versatile knowledge of debit and credit products and services, and the business and technical processes used to enable those products and services
• Understanding of infrastructure engineering with baseline knowledge of application architecture, integration architecture, security and data architecture
• Knowledge of requirements engineering and familiarity with the agile methodology
• Baseline understanding of project management
• Ability to independently facilitate complex data gathering and design collaboration meetings, as well as JAD sessions and Design walkthroughs
• Ability to develop and manage critical success factors
• Strong computer proficiency, particularly MS Office Suite
• Strong diagramming proficiency using MS Visio
• Strong logical reasoning skills, with the ability to solve problems
• Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good leadership and decision making skills, with the ability to influence others
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
• Bachelor Degree from a 4-year college or university in the area of Systems/Technology desired (Associate Degree with relevant work experience in financial systems may be substituted)
• 5+ years' experience using Agile/Scrum methodology (Waterfall experience in a Financial industry may be substituted)
• Experience dealing with Financial networks compliance projects is strongly desired
• Industry certifications are plus
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills and a demonstrated aptitude for communicating with both the technical staff and end-users to understand application requirements and design
