Job description

Responsibilities:

Responsible for analyzing and documenting business requirements for application and data systems and directing the testing and implementation of new systems or changes to current system as required to meet contractual needs and improve processes.

Principal Functions include:

  • Business & Application Analysis
  • Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Project Management
  • Leading Joint Application Development Sessions

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical/business environment.
  • 2-3 years work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application design and IT documentation, in order to gain an understanding of application data systems, operations and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation related to workflow and business requirements, as well as technical functionality of IT applications.
  • Ability to create and/or use SQL queries is preferred. This includes a working knowledge of SQL and database design along with the analytical ability required to perform data inquiries, analyze systems, reconcile defects and recommend solutions.
  • Experience with client/server architectures and the basic function and process of computers, software applications, networking and computer technology.
  • Must have an understanding of application administration or the software development life cycle.
  • Must be able to lead Joint Application Development (JAD) meetings with subject matter expertise (SMEs) to gather and document IT requirements.
  • Understanding or familiarity with functionality associated with electronic health records is preferred.
  • Must have advanced problem solving skills and be able to understand how various issues and scenarios affect each other and the outcome of projects.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from varied sources and be able to deconstruct abstract concepts into detailed processes and interpret user requests in to the underlying true needs and translate needs into application and operational functional requirements.
  • Must have advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Power Point. Familiar with Microsoft Project a plus.
