PF Concepts specializes in developing and implementing qualitative revenue cycle solutions for the healthcare industry. PF Concepts provides acute care hospitals and all types of healthcare facilities and physician practices, support services in Revenue Cycle Management and Patient Financial Services including all aspects of Patient Access and Patient Accounts, A/R management, financial screening and eligibility determination of the uninsured for qualifying governmental programs.

Job Summary: The Eligibility Representative will screen patients for insurance (Charity Care and/or Medicaid) eligibility and completes applications through the coordination of inpatient, clinic, emergency department and/or office visits.

  • Full-Time Position- Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Salary Range: $15.00-$16.00 per hour (Negotiable based on healthcare experience).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interviews patients in person or by telephone and determines eligibility based on guidelines supplied by the client site and Uncompensated Trust Fund Regulations.
  • Assist patients in completing related forms and applications for assistance.
  • Receives requests and referrals from various hospital departments; i.e., Social Services, Inpatient/Outpatient Department, Labor and Delivery Dept, Emergency Room, etc., on potential patients whose financial situation may make them eligible for financial assistance.
  • Follows up with patients after discharge to insure compliance.
  • Submits completed applications in a timely manner for approval. If not eligible for any assistance, refers patient to the appropriate department for payment plan and/or pricing.
  • Initiates online Presumptive Eligibility for patients eligible for Medicaid and retains a copy for departmental record keeping.
  • Completes forms for patients eligible for Medicaid and retains a copy for departmental record keeping.
  • Follows up with pending/future date of service applications for completion and submission.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma; Associates Degree or extensive industry experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional client and customer service, relationship and team building. An accountable professional with a passion for the healthcare industry and client services.
  • Ability to operate in a hospital's environment.
  • Detailed oriented with ability to multitask with multiple information systems.
  • Preferred experience in the use of Microsoft Office software applications, electronic billing systems.
  • Maintains compliance with HIPAA and patients confidentiality standards.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
