Field Claims Representative

Will be filled at the appropriate level based on experience

Do you have strong investigation skills, an inquisitive nature and enjoy problem solving? Are you a go-getter with high initiative, a positive attitude and a lifelong learner? Do you thrive in a work environment where you must work independently with limited direction, multi-task, and have strong organization skills? If so, this Field Claims Representative opportunity could be a great fit for you!

Who We Are: With Farm Bureau Financial Services, our client/members can feel confident knowing their family, home, cars and other property are protected. We value a culture where integrity, teamwork, passion, service, leadership and accountability are at the heart of every decision we make and every action we take. We're proud of our more than 80-year commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client/members and creating an atmosphere where our employees thrive.

What You'll Do: As a Field Claims Representative, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling assigned claims involving multi-lines of insurance coverage (property and casualty claims related to farm, equipment, home, and commercial). You must investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, keep diligent file documentation during the claim and determine coverage based on the policy. You will also determine the value of the loss and assist the Farm Bureau client/member through the process to make the claim simple for them. During storm season, you must be available to assist coworkers in other parts of Minnesota as needed, as well as in our other Farm Bureau states (Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota & Utah). You will work out of our field office in either Farmington, New Mexico or Albuquerque, NM and cover an assigned territory.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

* Four year college degree or equivalent plus 2+ years of relevant experience is required.
* Ag, construction, insurance and/or claims background is preferred.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including face-to-face customer service skills.
* High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* The ability to negotiate and cope with stressful situations.
* Strong computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.
* You must be a self-starter and enjoy working independently, but also be able to work together and collaborate with team members.
* Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and fully appraise all physical aspects of the property and buildings, which includes climbing on ladders to inspect roofs.
* Must have valid driver's license and the ability to travel. Typically, travel is during the workday for field appointments within your assigned territory but may also include limited overnight travel. A company vehicle is provided.
* Continued progress towards industry education and maintenance of designations is expected.

What We Offer You: When you're on our team, you get more than a great paycheck. You'll hear about career development and educational opportunities. We offer an enhanced 401K with a match, low cost health, dental, and vision benefits, and life and disability insurance options. We also offer paid time off, including holidays and volunteer time, as well as a company paid vehicle and cell phone. Farm Bureau....where the grass really IS greener!

If you're interested in joining a company that appreciates employees, provides growth and professional development opportunities, and offers great benefits, we invite you to apply today!
