About UNM School of Engineering
Established in 1906, the UNM School of Engineering is the largest engineering school in the state and has maintained a strong tradition as one of the country's leading educators of engineers and computer scientists. The school offers accredited undergraduate degree programs and graduate programs leading to MS, ME, and PhD degrees in a research-intensive environment.

The Our Time campaign hopes to raise $50 million by 2025.
About Us
The UNM Foundation was established in 1979 as an incorporated nonprofit corporation. The Foundation began operations in the spring of 1980, conducting all its operations through a university department. At that time, University units hired development professionals and limited staff to provide direct fund raising and other support to programmatic initiatives for philanthropy.
Today, the UNM Foundation is an inter-dependent organization with expanded fiduciary duties to include fiscal, human resources and treasury functions. With 81 employees, the UNM Foundation is one of only 58 University foundations to reach a billion-dollar fundraising goal and who consistently reaches and surpasses its annual fundraising goal of $80 million.
What You Will Do
The Director of Development will serve as a fundraiser within a development and alumni relations team that includes a Senior Director of Development, a Development Specialist, and a Marketing Manager. The Director of Development will design, implement, evaluate, and refine aspects of the unit's private-sector fund raising activities with an emphasis on major gifts as defined by UNM Foundation standards. The primary focus of the position is to identify and cultivate prospects and solicit major gifts for the Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering and Nuclear Engineering departments in the School of Engineering as defined by UNM Foundation measures. The Director of Development also manages two special projects in the School of Engineering. Working closely with the Development Specialist and the Foundation's Director of Donor Acquisition, the Director of Development will lead the annual giving appeal. Additionally, in collaboration with the Director of the Engineering Student Success Center, the Director of Development will help launch the school's Corporate Affiliate Program, aimed at attracting new partnerships and deepening existing relationships with local and regional industry.

What you will bring
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required
- Five (5) or more years related experience in development/fundraising/outside sales
- Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
- Experience with sponsorships and fundraising events
