DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY
Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque
Albuquerque, NM
As a full time, exempt CPS® Staffing Director of Pharmacy at Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque, you are the main pharmacist, as well as the Pharmacy Director, with oversight of all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. In this role, you will provide order entry services along with the assistance of a full time Pharmacy Technician and per diem Pharmacist. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team includes finance, clinical regulatory and purchasing.
Schedule: This position is scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. This position also provides on-call coverage for items needed within the pharmacy after hours and weekends that are not handled by the remote pharmacy service.
About the Facility: Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque is a 48-bed licensed, acute care behavioral hospital that provides a safe, nurturing environment for the treatment of complex mental health and substance abuse issues. Offerings include innovative and customized treatments in both inpatient and outpatient programs. Care is customized based on individual needs and preferences to help individuals move past illness or addiction and take back control of their lives. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.
About the Pharmacy: This centralizes pharmacy utilizes Pyxis/HCS with most medications automatically distributed after review by the Director. The pharmacy also utilizes COPE. Pharmacy hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Pharmacy coverage is provided by a remote services provider outside of pharmacy hours.
Required Qualifications:
* BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
* New Mexico Pharmacist license in good standing
* Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment.
* Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility.
* Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff.
Hospital Requirements:
* (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
* Hepatitis B vaccination
