Position Summary

The Division of Nephrology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time candidate who is a detail-oriented andresults-driven individual to join our team as a term Health Sciences ResearchAssistant.

The Research Assistant will be responsible in assisting facultyand staff on federally and industry funded, multi-year research projects. This person will ensure compliance with theHuman Research Review Committee (IRB) requirements and all related laws,regulations, policies and guidelines. They will provide day-to-day technical and administrative assistance toa team of technical staff engaged in the execution of multiple, complexresearch protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Learn all studyprotocols and processes.
2. Contact studyparticipants via phone to administer study questionnaires. (CATI Operator)
3. Enter data fromquestionnaires into secure data base.
4. Perform laboratoryprocessing procedures
5. Anyother duties as required.

Conditions of Employment

  • A valid New Mexico driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.


Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Experienceworking with REDCap
  • Fluentin English and Spanish
  • Useand understanding of medical terminology
  • IATATrained
  • Experiencewith laboratory sample processing and shipping procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
