Job description

Summary:

The Human Resource Department (HRD) supports the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the company's workforce for management. The HRD is devoted to providing effective policies, procedures, and people-friendly guidelines and support within the company to optimize the company's goals

Responsibilities

  • Assists New Hire Orientation
  • Administers all health and welfare benefits for employees during NHO
  • Creates, maintains, revises educates, enforces company policies and procedures
  • Assists supervisors and managers in resolving all employee relations issues to include counseling, warning, written disciplinary, performance improvement plans and termination
  • Maintains all HRIS data bases
  • Co-ordinates annual performance review for all employees
  • Complies with all local, state and federal reporting while maintaining employee information and data in confidence
  • Assists management in maintaining employee morale and balance between management and their employees
  • Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity
  • Reconciles monthly gym membership log
  • Facilitates the separation of employees
  • Administer with medical leave processes
  • Assists with workers' compensation claims
  • Conducts investigations
  • Responds to various questions employees have
  • Unemployment claim administration
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in human resources or a related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR, SPHR or CEBS certification a plus.

Required:

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be extremely knowledgeable of background screening, ADP Database software; Human Resource Information Systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software and Power Point presentation software.

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer and Internet proficiency are important. The recruitment specialist must be able to work well independently but must also work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of hiring laws is vital
  • . Prefer knowledge in Taleo recruiting software

Must pass background check

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
