Overview:Join our team as a Supervisor Food Service - Production!!If you have a gift for caring and serving customers, we are looking for you!!Assist Executive Chef and Food Service Director in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of work activities in the Food Production Areas.Emphasis is on-sight recipe compliance; food safety practices good production techniques and final product.Maintain good relationships with peers, and assure a quality product is delivered.Fill in for the Executive Chef or Food Service managers in case of absence.Coordinate resources of the assigned area to achieve quality and customer satisfaction. Help train new production employees on specific job duties and good production techniques.Oversee and ensure all proper food safety guidelines, regulatory guidelines, and department standards.Provide studies and analysis reports on production activities.Type of Opportunity: Full TimeFTE: 1.000000Exempt: YesWork Schedule: Varied Days and HoursResponsibilities:*Perform duties of Food and Nutrition Services as needed.*Act as a role model for all aspects of Food and Nutrition for staff to look up to and see as a training source with an emphasis on production staff.* Supervises cooking and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical, safe and timely food production. Develops skills and efficiencies for production and culinary staff.* Familiarizes newly hired chefs and food production workers with practices of kitchen. Participates in and documents training of food and nutrition services employees.*Monitor quality and service of work performed in their assigned area*Help instruct, cross train, motivate, coach, and guide Food and Nutrition Associates.*Resolve daily issues presented in daily operations. Conducts validation studies, analysis of production activities such as waste audits, meat yields, recipe compliance audits, etc. as determined by Executive Chef and/or Director of Food & Nutrition.*Work to assure that all areas that Food and Nutrition serves, are having their needs met. Examples include patients receiving their meals, catering functions, cafeteria functions, etc.*Inspects department production, storage, and service areas to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations. Recommends or initiates corrective action.*Know, understand, and adhere to PHS and Department Policies and procedures.*Possess knowledge of and assure compliance with standards for Infection Control, EFPA, OSHA, JCAHO, and USDA Food Code, and Health Department Administrative Code.*Develops new recipes and presentation of food items that help to promote revenue and patient satisfaction.Qualifications:Minimum two years experience in Food Service related field with the aptitude to be cross-trained in several disciplines. Good analytical skills, problem solving skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Computer skills and math skills are necessary for many job duties.Preferred:One year previous supervisory experiences preferred.
