Summary:
Primary duties are in support of the Technical Surveillance and Countermeasures (TSCM) Program at the facility. Security Systems include innovative technologies for intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, TSCM and other electronic security related equipment. The position requires the ability to interact and communicate effectively with facilities, maintenance, engineering, protective force, program management, and the integrated supply chain organizations. Conducts security reviews and risk assessments that are used as the basis for cost-effective, compliant security systems. Reviews, interprets, and applies extensive, detailed and highly technical guidance received from the DOE, National Security Agency, Department of Defense, and other government agencies regarding security systems and threats. Researches, designs, and implements complete and compliant Security Systems for secure facilities meeting the program requirements of the Department of Energy (DOE).
This position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) surveys
- Performs Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) equipment inspections
- Perform in-conference monitoring
- Advise and assist personnel on matters of technical security policy, procedures, and regulations
- Complete written reports and security briefings
- Operate and maintain In Place Monitoring System (IPMS)
- Research and evaluate facility construction, physical security measures, intrusion detection systems, and provide protective and preventive technical advice and assistance for the protection of classified information
- Drive continuous improvement of security systems through monitoring and evaluating new, innovative technology solutions to security systems
- Conduct analysis and recommend solutions to a variety of complex technical surveillance and counter-surveillance detection or other technical vulnerabilities
You Must Have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Security or comparable technical activities, including application of engineering principles and technology to complex technical assignments
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a U.S. Government TSCM technician
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences with a minimum of 30 semester hours of electronic related courses, or Associate's degree in electronics field with 2 additional years of equivalent work experience
- Completion of an electronics program from an accredited vocational school with 2 additional years of equivalent work experience
- Completion of military technical electronics school with 2 additional years of equivalent work experience
- Graduation from Federal TSCM Fundamentals Course (ITC) with 2 additional years of equivalent work experience and successful completion of continuing education to maintain certification
- US citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance

- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills · written and verbal including ability to document information and data clearly and concisely to either technical or nontechnical audiences
- Ability to meet all basic physical requirements of the TSCM certification with or without accommodation:
- Perform activities during sustained periods of intense concentration, working with electrical hazards, under adverse weather conditions, in confined and restricted spaces
