mPACT2WO, a Molex business, is seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our team in Buffalo, NY and support our Sales, Operations, and Engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and purchasing of raw material for the Molex Buffalo manufacturing facility, while managing vendors and inventory levels to prevent shortages. You will also be working with sales and manufacturing to transform purchase orders and forecasting into sales orders and production jobs in line with the customer delivery requirements. The buyer/planner will report directly to the plant manager.

What You Will Do In Your Role

All procurement functions including sourcing, negotiating, and expediting various materials and servicesAccountable and responsible for creating and analyzing requests for quotations and processing purchase ordersManage relationships with suppliers when placing orders, dealing with RMAs, and following up on delivery timesParticipate in supplier performance evaluations and be responsible for improvement of delivery performance. Responsible for collecting and communicating incremental cost, such as from late deliveries and quality defects where applicableMaintain inventory levels based on purchase orders, sales forecasting, and historical shipping levelsCollaborate with managers concerning vendor performance, pricing issues, delivery issues and any other pertinent information that requires cross-functional strategies within the supply chainKeep vendor file current per SOP requirementsLead our QT9 ERP vendor information including updating pricing and adding new vendorsEnter sales orders as customer purchase orders are receivedWork with manufacturing and create jobs to fulfill purchase orders and/or minimum stocking levels based on forecastingMonitor open sales orders and customer delivery date requirements, and coordinate production priorities with manufacturing

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experienceMinimum 3 years' experience purchasing raw materials in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 3 years' experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle

Prior job planning experience in a manufacturing environmentFamiliar with mechanical drawings and Critical to Quality (CTQs) requirementsPrior experience with incoming inspectionProduct & Category expertiseSupplier management experienceProject management experience Supplier and risk analysis capability
