As a key member of the territory's Field Leadership team in the Ameriprise Independent Advisor channel, this role partners with the Franchise Field Vice President to help support and coach financial advisors within the territory. Responsible for driving advisor engagement in corporate and territory initiatives, and coaching advisors to promote best-in-class organic growth. Provide business planning, implementation and follow up support to all advisors within the territory. This role is critical to supporting the end-to-end appointment, on-boarding and development of Novice Associate Financial Advisors (AFA), as well as having primary responsibility for career path management for critical practice staff in their territory. Partner with the Franchise Field Vice President and Recruiting Director on experience advisor recruitment and development. Will lead the onboarding efforts for new experience financial advisors that join the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving organic growth within the territory. Lead the annual Advisor Business Planning process for the territory, ensuring a high-quality implementation that drives both high participation, and captures advisor growth goals and objectives to align practice growth goals with territory resources. Responsible for advisor engagement in programs including region/territory events that drive practice growth by leveraging available resources and uptake in growth programs. Connect top advisors to programs designed to help them troubleshoot issues and drive growth.
  • Create and manage an onboarding plan customized for Novice/Experienced Associate Financial Advisor and External Practice Acquisition hires and serve as key point of contact throughout the process. Ensure employees have the right tools, resources, training and support necessary to onboard effectively, quickly transition their clients/assets and grow GDC to pre-transition level of production.
  • Lead a high quality, high volume recruiting and career path process for practice staff, Novice Associate Financial Advisor and External Practice Acquisition. Develop and manage a comprehensive diversified sourcing strategy - driving a consistent level of high quality flow. Ability to effectively screen and conduct interviews with candidates, present the unique value proposition for each opportunity, and manage all steps of the process in partnership with the lead advisor.
  • Provide leadership to matrix business partners who are responsible for driving organic growth results in the assigned territory. Demonstrate an understanding of Diversity & Inclusion strategies and initiatives to influence and collaborate with all levels of advisors. Present strategic messaging on behalf of the local leadership team in advisor engagement venues.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to both work independently with high initiative while also comfortable working with a team to drive results.
  • Ability to create and implement change, drive results and hold others accountable. Strategic focus with ability to translate vision into tactical actions.
  • Extensive Project Management experience required, preferably (but not exclusively) in leading operational, onboarding and recruiting projects.
  • Outstanding relationship management, negotiation, and collaborating/influencing skills in working with all levels of advisors.
  • Ability to monitor and service remote and/or multiple office locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some travel required.
Note: Must live in one of the region/territory 5 states. Territory consists of Connecticut, Western MA, Upstate NY, RI, and VT

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with recruiting.

• Experience in financial services industry.

• Series 7.

• Series 66.
